Seoul Took Us to Dreamvana Live

An earbanging dreamvana, specifically.

Seoul delivered a mesmerizing performance in The Echo, Los Angeles few days ago and we got knocked out in deamvana by their amazeballer show. The nu dreamwave Montreal trio released their first album I Become a Shade on June of this year and have been touring abroad for the first time. When you listen to their album, they oscillate from hushed soundscape to midtempo reflections.

But when they play live, their music metamorphoses into ground-hopping adrenaline that does not resemble the tracks you’ve been replaying during chill existential showers. We recognized the lyrics, yet the avalanching percussions and synth-free vocals flabbergasted us with a different side of Seoul – the dance-inducing one, not the soothe-inducing one that we expected.

Photo: Shoutout to Julian for his energetic aura and motherrocking the keyboard!

So wear comfortable shoes, expect a computer-free concert, and be ready to get dance highs. The trio seemed ecstatically surprised to see people sing along whereas we were far more stunned by their expressions. Do they know how earbanging I Become a Shade sounds?
