And by “Laid”, we mean new single that lives up to its title.

A year ago, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart gifted us with Days of Abandon – a serene, mature-themed album that was received with much ambivalence. Honestly, we liked how Abandon dumped the saccharine and quixotic heart-bombing concept to settle for a more realistic, relatable one; it gave us a new perspective on the band. And the NY indie band keeps lightening their newfound image by sharing their single “Laid” from their upcoming three-track EP, Hell. “Laid” has the vocals of Jen Goma who also contributed in Abandon.

Hell will be released on November 13 and Pains will be touring several cities in that month as well:

11/6 – The Oval (London, England)

11/10 – Club Quattro (Tokyo, Japan)

11/11 – Club Quattro (Osaka, Japan)

11/28 – Cockenflap Festival (Hong Kong)

11/29 – Neon Lights Festival (Singapore)
