The outcast gets the girl.

Not sure if this is a hair ad for men, but it could easily get by as one – Pete Yorn’s “Lost Weekend” follows a long, curly-haired teenager who is bullied for his outcastness. The indie folk singer released the video a week ago and seems like a it-gets-better themed video as his suave, raspy murmurs of “straight out of the suburbia” assures every marginalized teen that there is a way out of the homogeneous dullsville.

Yorn’s vocals come off hazy in “Los Weekend” as the his voice is embedded, rather than standing atop, the raw guitar strings and drums – which yields a fuzzed out tone that makes it sound like a reflection. “Lost Weekend” is from Pete Yorn’s upcoming record Arrangingtime, out on March 11. He has some show dates coming up on April:
