Every Song in Joywave’s Swish is Unique – Just Like the Other Songs

It’s a 9-way déjà vu.

New York indie rockers, Joywave, just released their new album Swish today and it’s a synth-coated déjà vu that isn’t what you’ll expect from normal records. Listen to it and whatever ambivalent feelings you have, make sure to not skip “Life in a Bubble I Blew” because that one is not like the others:

We know…it was really hard to choose one mind-massaging track among the pile of unique ballads, but in the end we had to give the crown of favorites to “Life in a Bubble I Blew.” The song on its own – outside of Swish zone – is a meditative electrorocker that rolls with a psychedelic flair and the percussion gushes cushioning the choruses makes the entire sonic experience a cerebral soother. Joywave started out in 2010 and became known for their collaboration with Big Data, “Dangerous.” Hey, thinkpisspiecers out there, here’s another pitch for you: “Is the Art of Album-Making Dead?”
