Foxtrott knows how to march into electropop in her own beat.

Montreal-based musician, Foxtrott, recently shared her track “Brother” from her latest EP A Taller Us in SoundCloud, showcasing her zany forte in embellishing electropop with anti-pop elements that seem like they derive from folk, hip hop, etc. but somehow end up becoming the perfect modern pop cocktail. Opening up with drumroll, “Brother” immediately puts you on your toes as Foxtrott starts invading your ears with throbbing synths:

A Taller Us came out on December of last year. Foxtrott started as composer and became a singer after debuting her first EP Shields back in 2012, which received many thumbs up from blogosphere. Growing up, Foxtrott lists a myriad of genres as her influences including Cumbia, reggae, hip hop, electronic, and many more, which helped to sharpen (and explain) her own outré sound.
