Melbourne-based nu-disco singer, Harts, could be your next modern day Prince in your disco/soul playlist – even Prince himself said that Harts “reminds me of how I was at that age.” Harts has the funk stamp of approval and even if you are not into Prince, his finesse in transplanting retro soul into synth-lifted beats creates an anachronic banger. His latest single “Peculiar” sums it up:

Darren Hart is the solo artist behind Harts and has named Prince, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Wonder as his main songsculpting influencers. Harts’s debut album, Daydreamer, was released back in September 2014 and got press shoutouts for its 80s-infused pop funk. “Peculiar” was released back in January of this year and as of now Harts has announced that he is working on a new record.
