For all those times that you faced that hackneyed “it’s not you, it’s me” excuse, you can blast it out of your system with Alex Lahey’s “You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me.” The Melbourne-based indie rocktress shared the pop-glazed garage ballad as a teaser for her upcoming debut EP. Listen below:

Lahey’s vocal vigor is one that reminds you of Kathleen Hanna, but a softened version of it that fits in the pop sphere. She composed and demoed the track in her bedroom few months ago before it started hitting radio stations. As of now, the gal is working on launching her EP, which will be out on May of this year. She has two gigs coming up:

4/29 – The Gasometer (Melbourne, Australia)

5/6 – The Channel (Melbourne, Australia)
