Pornographic screenception…still PG13.

Alternative rockers, July Talk, explores screenception of online porn in a noir romantic film in their new video “Picturing Love.” The hammering, ear-engraving vocals of Pete Dreimanis and slick voice of Leah Fay catapults us into a rushing soundscape where we are suspended in an adrenaline-junkie mode, trying to drench our dire thirst for more. But just like porn, we meet the denouement and start settling downtempo – play the ear porn:

“We’ve talked a lot about the mainstream media’s depiction of love, romance, and sex over the years. Particularly about how hetero-Hollywood porn affects the way young people discover sex and the unrealistic and male-pleasure-centric ideas it forms and perpetuates. The more that people buy into the examples of sex/romance they see, and the less they tune into the actual wants and needs of their bodies/hearts, the more fucked up sexual relationships can become.” explained July Talk.

The track is from their sophomore album, Touch, which has received wide acclaim in the Canadian Alternative Chart. As of now, they just wrapped up their US tour and will be finishing most of their sold out European shows. So GOOD LUCK finding tickets:
