NY duo, Satellite Mode, shows a new level of ambition with their new electropop single, “Secrets.” Unlike their previous laid-back pop songs, “Secrets” flirts with the ambience palette and showcases a more percolating refinement of indietronic pop. The gleaming strings and deliberate doses of echoes make it a sweet, meditative indulgence that you could take shelter from the neck-breaking pace of life:

The ear-captivating couplet “How many secrets do you hold? / How many secrets go untold?” boxes us in the brief questioning interludes we all have in brief chunks of time. “I wrote the hook lyrics in 2013, walking down 22nd street Manhattan while running an errand for my former day job. It was a picturesque spring day, one that highlighted how heavy I’d been feeling; how slow I’d been moving. I sang these words out loud on 5th Ave and it brought some much needed levity. It stayed with me for years.” shared lead singer, Jess Carvo.

Satellite Mode debuted their single, “Wild Excuses,” back in 2015 and has already had sold out show at Mercury Lounge and hit the Spotify Viral Charts. They have a show coming up in NYC:

2/10 – Blue Note (New York City, NY, USA)
