Made-in-LA rockers, Rooney, took over the stages of The Satellite to celebrate the arrival of the film Dreamland on Netflix. The 2016 movie, directed by Robert Schwartzman (the frontman), follows a struggling artist who suffers from peasant budget and starts an affair with a cougar. It’s like the LA version of The Graduate, but with a sugar mamma – aka the perfect film to watch with your parents.
Rooney played several classics including your MySpace song “I’m Shakin” and new ones such as “My Heart Beats 4 U” from their upcoming album, Washed Away (out on May 16). Check out photos of the show below:
Formed back in 1999, Rooney have been rocking the indie scene for more than a decade and have toured internationally, topped charts, hit the road with other bands (Weezer), and reining the alternative radio. For Generation Z lads wondering why you haven’t heard of Rooney, they went on a hiatus during your puberty years (2012ish – 2015ish). If you don’t like them, you would’ve been exiled from our MySpace.
