With lilting strings and aerated synths, Thurston Moore takes you into a time capsule of New York City in his new video “Smoke Of Dreams.” Embellished with billowing rhythms and hazy texture, the track has an uplifting lightness to it that showcases Moore’s versatility in crafting a meditative space that is also rich with his imagination. The video, with its washed-out colors, has a retro touch to it and follows Thurston roaming through the streets in New York as he wade in and out of the background:

“Smoke Of Dreams” is from Thurston’s upcoming record Rock n Roll Consciousness, which will be out on April 28th under Caroline International label. Working with Adele’s producer Paul Epwork, Thurston explores themes of spirituality, romance, existentialism and mysticism in his upcoming album. Rock n Roll Consciousness is the fifth record of the rock icon, who is known for founding Sonic Youth (1980) and solo projects including Beck-produced Demolished Thoughts (2011).
