You can’t help but ask “What would Freud say?” if he saw The Drums’ latest video “Blood Under My Belt” where Jonny Pierce – the mastermind behind The Drums – shows us his visual fetishes. These obsessions include Moschino clothing, Adidas, sports gear, light bulbs, instruments, dandelions, and color indulgence. It’s the kind of pop song that combines pop’s hookiness in a dreamy texture. Watch below:

“What does it take? / For you to believe that I have changed / I know very well / That I have blood under my belt” chants Pierce. Juxtaposing the desperate plea for someone with an upbeat cadence is the sweet spot of the song. There is nothing better than indulging in the sheer despair that we’ve all gone through (if not, kudos for being perfect motherfucker) with lurid sensations – both auditory and visually. “Blood Under My Belt” is from The Drums upcoming album, Abysmal Thoughts, which will be out on June 16. He will start touring on July so go see him in person:
