It’s Influencers Vs. Consumers In Sylvan Esso’s New Video “Radio”

Who wins?

Sylvan Esso captures the power struggle between the pop culture and consumers in their new video “Radio,” directed by Elise Tyler. Following Instafamous-like gals who seem to be at the top of the latest YouTube makeup trends and OOTD, the video smudges the power line between the media and the consumers. Stream below:

“‘Radio’ deals with the game dynamics of pop culture, media, and the players who participate in it. Often times, it can be hard to distinguish where the actual power is held- who is the pusher, who is the user, and who is being used- and, maybe, that those roles aren’t mutually exclusive. The women in our video are masters of this riddle, acting as devout consumers and also powerfully seductive influencers- a balance that all women know too well.” shared Elise Tyler.

“Radio” is from Sylvan Esso’s sophomore album, What Now, which will be released on April 28th. The single has already become a chart-topper, snatching #1s on Hype Machine and Spotify Viral charts (both US and global). The band will start hitting the stages on May:
