Charly Bliss’ Debut Album Guppy Is Your New Spirit Animal

A polished/slashed pop record.

NYC-based rock quartet, Charly Bliss, dropped their latest debut record Guppy and it’s a 10-track rendezvous between pop and rock. Lacerating the pop texture with the aggressive strings of rock’n’roll, Charly Bliss finds a rapturous balance between the comfy hookiness of pop and explosive atmosphere. Guppy is not the pop record you’re used to – it’s polished/slashed with guitar chords that stand as representation of Charly Bliss’ own flair of songsculpting:

Charly Bliss became widely known for their 2014 EP, Soft Serve, which lead them to play alongside other bands like Glass Animals, Darwin Deez, and Tokyo Police Club. Speaking of Tokyo Police Club, the band started when frontgal Eval Hendricks and guitarist Spencer Fox met at a TPC concert in New York City (both were 15 at that time). Since then, Sam Hendricks (drums) and Dan Shure (bass) joined the band. You can see the four on tour:
