Beachwood Coyotes Is A Band That Was Born Out Of Acid Trip & Hollywood

When you mix acid with Hollywood, you end up in a new band…or in the morning news.

Once upon a time a dude named Jason (Jason Nott, to be exact) decided to lose his acid virginity at 2am in Hollywood. Having recently experienced a band breakup, he was depressed and did what you should NEVER do on acid: go on a nocturnal hike to the Hollywood sign. Instead of staying in bed and eating pizza leftovers, he hit Beachwood Canyon trail to the iconic Hollywood sign. As he walked towards the trailhead, he saw a group of coyotes coming at him so he decided to go back to his apartment. Next morning he discovered that three decapitated bodies from a gang hit were found in the same trail and the time of death was the same time he ran away.

So, what do we know from this story? Well, aside from the possibility that Jason Nott may live near the Hollywood sign (or he Ubered his way back), he started songcrafting new materials and started a band again with Drew Smith (bassist), Bryan King (board), and Yan Clermont (guitar). The three of them may not be as BOLD (Band’s Official Lord Dumbass) as Jason, but together they bring the magic of acid bliss to your ears. Stream their single “Face to Face” below:

“Face to Face” squires us to the cathartic moments of self-search with their streaks of chords and swaggering drum rolls that hit our emotional pressure spots. Each lyrical line ends with a nervy accent, capturing the loss and inner desire to find one’s core again. The single is from their upcoming EP, Scrubby, which will be out in summer 2017. As of now Beachwood Coyotes are on tour, so go congratulate Jason on losing his acid virginity:
