Alex Napping Takes Us From Dollhouse To Madhouse In Their New Video “You’ve Got Me”

Alex Napping toys with conventional gender notions and dolls in their new video “You’ve Got Me” where we see men in wearing female clothes as they live in a dollhouse. With fuzzy percussions that rain to your ears, “You’ve Got Me” has a surrealistic dreamy vibe to it where the frontwoman Alex Cohen’s vocals swirls you into a soothing madness. Watch below:

Cohen described “You’ve Got Me” as “a personal account of the frenzied and overwhelming nature of sexual tension.” Given the feminization of the male characters, the video boxes men into traditional female roles that are completely dictated by their owner.

“You’ve Got Me” is from Alex Napping’s second album Mise En Place, which is already out now via Father/Daughter Records. The Austin-based quartet, who formed back in 2013, gained wide acclaim for their debut record This Is Not A Bedroom. Since then, they’ve received various radio plays, press shoutouts, and festival spotlights. As of now, they have show dates coming up:
