UK duo, April Towers, are ready to fire up your summer playlist with their new single “Takes One To Know One.” It’s synthpop – but not the lamestream kind that sounds like the other electropop saturating the radio. With a mild dose of electropical elements and indietronic fever, “Takes One To Know One” feels like an anachronic piece where the retro beats are smoked with contemporary pop flair. Stream below:
The single is the first appetizer that they’ve shared from their upcoming debut album, which will be out early next year. The record is being funded through Pledge Music, so if you like what you’re listening, help them sonsculpt more eargasms. “After the successful release of a number of singles, we felt the time was right to get in to the studio and make an album, a record we are incredibly proud of and feel is the next stepping stone in the April Towers story. Having an extended body of work is something we have always aspired to, so the fact that it’s nearly a reality is incredibly exciting to us” shared April Towers.
Comprised of the duo Alex Noble (vocals, guitar & keyboards) and Charlie Burley (production, samples, guitars, & keyboards), April Towers have already released several singles and EPs including Silent Fever. They have already played shows and festivals across Europe, gaining a solid fanbase and recognition for their anachronic sound. As of now, they have show dates coming up:
6/26 – Old Blue Last (London, UK)
9/8 – The Angel Microbrewery at The Chapel (Nottingham, UK)
10/26 – O2 Academy 2 Islington (London, UK)
