Beach Fossils Takes Us Slo-Mo Skateboarding Through New York In Their Video “Sugar”

Avoiding existential void one skateboard at a time.

“So now you found the time to get away / But you don’t know what to do about yourself” croons Beach Fossils in their hazy, upliftingly moody track “Sugar.” The video follows the trio skateboarding through various parts of New York in slow motion. It’s soothing – instead of testing your patience, the video feels like a break from the neck-breaking pace that dominate our days. You’re immediately sucked into the liminal instances of skateboarding that we only get to savor for milliseconds in real life. “Sugar” stretches those moments and allows you to really digest it:
