The Pains of Being Pure at Heart takes on a pop art form in the new video “When I Dance With You” where we see the frontman Kip Berman à-la-Warhol. The playful, brightening tune gives off an artsy and childlike touch to the visuals. In some instances, the video emits nostalgia for it reminds you of fanzine aesthetics or childhood cartoons. In other moments, however, the patterns and colors in the video yield the same kind of hypnotic effect that we often get trapped when watching TV. Stream below:

The band shared the new single back in June, which we found it as addictive as a fidget spinner. The music video, which was directed by Ralph Fuller, matches the swirling melody of the song and is as immersive as the little toy of joy. “When I Dance With You” is from The Pains’ upcoming album, The Echo of Pleasure, which will be out on September 1st via their own label Painbow.
