British folk rocker, Barns Courtney, will be releasing his debut record The Attractions of Youth on September 29th via Virgin EMI. After hitting #1 in the UK Spotify Viral Charts with his single “Glitter & Gold” and stacking up more than 12 million streams with his other single “Fire”, Barns Courtney’s new record has already set the bar high for our expectations. His songs are the sound of nostalgia, heartache, gratitude and life shenanigans packed in addictive chords that pull your heartstrings. Exuding a similar vibe like that of Kings of Leon, Barns Courtney takes you back to the raw territory of folk music but sharpened with rock elements and personal experiences. Check out his latest single “Golden Dandelions”:

At first glance, you would never expect that Barns Courtney is an artist who was born out of bad record deals, family troubles, homelessness, and serendipities. But the bluesy undertones and the emotions he channels through his lyrics translate those heavy experiences into a heart-warming melancholia that feels intimate. You may not be able to relate to all of his life experiences, but his songs feel so applicable for all the ups-and-downs that we constantly navigate. As of now, Barns Courtney is preparing to hit the stages in the UK:

8/23 – Camden Assembly Rooms (London, UK)
