Declutter The Excess Outta Your Life With JR JR’s New Single “Clean Up”

Anti over-consumption anthem.

In an era where we are constantly over-consuming – media, food, material possessions, gossip, etc. – at a neck-breaking pace, JR JR makes us step aside and reflect on the amount of excess we hoard unnecessarily in their new single “Clean Up.” As its title implies, the track is an anti over-consumption piece that opens a meditative soundscape for you to declutter any distractions. The quiet fluidity of the chords immerse you into a Zen-like emptiness where everything feels light. “Clean Up” is a vicarious taste of freedom from excess:

“’Clean Up’ is a song about the discomfort that not living in harmony with your true values can cause, so singing about it is supposed to make people a little uncomfortable. Hopefully, even question their own relationship with distractions.  When we played it on the last tour, the response in the room, with people hearing it for the first time, gave me hope that ‘Clean Up’ was doing that for some folks.” Shared JR JR.

The track is the follow up of their March single “Same Dark Places”, which are the first new materials that the duo has released since their 2015 album, JR JR. The record received wide praises across the media and included the Top 10 Alternative single “Gone”. As of now, JR JR is planning to hit the stages in the fall so see them live:
