Irish artists, Outsider, takes us into an explosive synthpop odyssey in his new English/Gaeilge single “Míol Mór Mara” – which means ‘sea whales’ or ‘giant beasts of the sea’ in English. The grand-sized beats of the track remind you of the likes such The Killers or The War On Drugs. With chest-swelling melody that embarks you in a mind-stretching journey, “Míol Mór Mara” exhibits the magnificence of punk elements and luminescence of big pop hooks. Stream below:

“The song is about a child with downs syndrome I worked with when I was suffering from huge heartbreak and it had a profound influence on my life. The kid was so inspiring and pulled me out of a dark place really just by spending time with him. It’s got a lot of biblical references to Jonah and The Whale, which is symbolic of diving into the sea of the unknown and becoming something far greater than yourself in a spiritual sense” explained Outsider.

“Míol Mór Mara” has already been featured in the FIFA 18 soundtrack, becoming the first song in Irish language that has hit the mainstream video gaming. It has also been used in Netflix’ Shadowhunters. Hailing from Dublin, Outsider’s moniker takes after the Ramones’ song and Colin Wilson’s novel (The Outsider). As of now, Outsider has a show date coming up:

9/23 – HWCH Festival (Dublin, Ireland)
