London-based quartet, Tempesst, combines a range of psychedelia-hefty elements and stoner pop in their swirling single “Waiheke.” The kaleidoscopic production whirls you to an outer space that is beyond the space-and-time continuum; you get dissolved into a vintage-y atmosphere but at the same time feel like you’re getting enlightened with the futuristic vision. The proximity between the past and future toys with your mind as the hypnotic bass lines and outré synth structures start pulling you further into the melodic vortex. Play below:

“My girlfriend Summer and I were travelling around New Zealand in a van last summer and ended up staying at her Auntie’s ‘Bach’ (beach cabin) in Waiheke, an island off Auckland. Summer’s Dad stayed with us too and gave me my first Tarot reading and I wrote this song about that conversation” shared guitarist/singer Toma Banjanin.

The other members of the Tempesst are Andy Banjanin (drums), Eric Weber (guitars), and Kane Reynolds (keys). “Waiheke” is from the band’s debut EP, Adult Wonderland, which will be out on October 27th. The band has already been making waves with their music and have played at major festivals, supported Temper Trap, and amassed radio plays. As of now, they have some show dates coming up:

12/6 – The Shacklewell Arms (London, UK)

12/7 – Heartbreakers (Southampton, UK)

12/8 – The Eagle Inn (Salford, UK)
