London-based artist, Holy ’57, takes us into his sanctuary of family memories in his video “Canary.” We see the songwriter/producer holding a lantern in dim, isolated space where he shuffles through old family photographs. Emitting an air of nostalgia, “Canary” is an emotional meditation of one’s heritage and roots that pulls the listener into the past and future at the same time. Watch below:

“‘Canary’ is a song about making sacrifices for someone you care about. So the video is a remembrance of the sacrifices my grandparents made for our family in coming to the UK from India” shared Holy ’57.

The track is from Holy ‘57’s latest album, L, which was released on October 13 and taps into his mixed heritage (Indian and Greek), identity, and memories. As of now, Holy ’57 has a show date coming up:

10/29 – Old Blue Last (London, UK)
