Sydney trio, Mansionair, makes your goosebumps stand up with their new single “Astronaut (Something About Your Love).” It is not just a lush piece of electronica – it is a track built on sound and space that expands with a quiet intensity. The atmosphere in this song is transcendental where the watery, high-pitch croons grapple with lust and love before dimming into the background. The sharp choruses and fingersnaps that cascade afterwards slice the smokiness of the song and speed you into a climactic burst. This is what we call transcendental eargasm:

“We shoved a microphone deep inside a piano and recorded all the atmospheric noises that came out,” explained producer/guitarist Lachlan Bostock. “Like what I imagined an astronaut felt as if he was looking back at Earth”

The other members of Mansionair are singer Jack Froggatt and drummer/producer Alex Nicholls, who started songsculpting together in 2014. Their widely successful single “Hold Me Down” was released via Chvrches’ Goodbye Records and since then, the band has toured internationally with other artists including Alt-J, London Grammar, and Florence & The Machine. They have show dates coming up:

11/22 – Birthdays (London, UK)

11/24 – Le Pop-Up du Label (Paris, France)

11/26 – Paradiso Upstairs (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)

11/27 – Privatclub (Berlin, Germany)

12/5 – The Lansdowne (Chippendale, NSW, Australia)
