Brisbane-based rising artist, Future Jr., addresses the quiet chaos of the affairs of the heart in his latest single “Sentimental Trick” where he wraps us with smoky layers of synths and soft-burning croons. In his latest work, Future Jr. explained that the song is about the “intricacies of navigating the line between friendship and romance, and the ecstasy and heartbreak that inevitably comes with it.”
23-year-old Matt Nainby is the mastermind behind Future Jr. who crafts music like those of Toro y Moi and Lorde from his parents’ basement. “Sentimental Trick” is from his upcoming debut EP, Vacancy, which will be out in 2018. It is also the follow up of his single “Suburbia Blue,” which has been making buzz across the media.
