Austrian indie pop duo Leyya has unveiled their latest single “Drumsolo” from their upcoming record Sauna. Breaking down all the basic boundaries of pop, “Drumsolo” navigates through your ears with its own fluidity and split ends. At times, the rhythm carry you with a wave-y air whereas in other times they are fragmented with quiet introspective intermissions. The outré production and vocals feel like a mismatch, but somehow this discordance act as the hook of the track. Stream below:

“Drumsolo is one of our favourite tracks of the new album – on the one hand it’s very complex (at one point it doesn’t even make sense music-theoretically) but on the other hand the melody is very catchy so you don’t notice its quirkiness – that’s what we always wanted our tracks to be like – different layers to discover depending on the listeners mood” shared Leyya.

Comprised of Sophie Lindinger and drummer Marco Kleebauer, Leyya became one of the most prominent Austrian acts with their hit single “Superego,” which accumulated more than 3 million Spotify plays and 550k YouTube views. They have already played in major European festivals including The Great Escape and Primavera Sound. The duo will start touring again at the beginning of next year, so see them live:
