Brighton artist Lume taps into the cruel, hope-killing war zone of social media in her new single “Tip Of Your Thumb.” While the song has a playful tone to it and is glossed with the rhythmic hook of pop, it addresses a global online epidemic of oversharing your 99 problems on social media platforms. So if you ever lost hope for humanity from any of the trending hashtags on Twitter or Facebook, “Tip Of Your Thumb” is the kick you need to get through the online shit storm created by attention seekers, trolls, and politicians. In regards to the track, Lume explained that “it’s about the culture of typing our thoughts and fighting social media wars with smartphones, where our thumb takes over to replace our voice.”
“Tip Of Your Thumb” is from Lume’s upcoming debut EP with the same title that will be released in March. It is also the follow up of her widely successful debut single, which quickly accumulated over half a million Spotify streams and praised by Radio 1.
