Austin-based duo Hovvdy (pronounced as ‘Howdy’) are letting us chill at home with their new single “In The Sun” – a lo-fi piece of buzzed pop that evokes the inner homebody out of you. If you need a song that feels like gauze-like melody, then “In the Sun” is for you:
In regards to the song, Will Taylor explained that it’s “a song about falling into sync with someone and staying home a lot, and about how things feel more real in the sunshine.”
The other half of Hovvdy is Charlie Martin who bonded with Will over their penchant for chill, serene music back in 2014. In 2016, they finished recording their debut album Taster, which was originally released on Sports Day Records. “In The Sun” is from their upcoming album, Cranberry, which will be out on February 9th via Double Double Whammy. The duo will also start touring around that time:
2/9 – Barracuda (Austin, TX, USA)
2/16 – Baby’s All Right (Brooklyn, NY, USA)
2/23 – Saturn Bar (New Orleans, LA, USA)
