Double Your Dose Of Frisson With GUM’s New Singles “The Underdog” & “S.I.A.”

Tame Impala/Pond’s multi-instrumentalist Jay Watson is back as GUM in double force by releasing two brand new singles today: “The Underdog” and “S.I.A.” It’s a psychedelic, head-spinning odyssey to the corners of galactic pop universe. “The Underdog” is a far more psyche and midtempo tune where half of your brain is left suspended in the dazing buzz while the other half wanders off, losing touch with reality. In regards to the track, GUM described is as “evoking that sensation of triumph and that weird parallel universe feeling you get when the person that’s’ not supposed to win, does.” Stream below:

“S.I.A.” feels like future pop that was made in the 80s. There is an auto-tune baseline that is topped with retro echoes and samples that constantly keep pounding onto your ears. “I liked the idea of it being really organic electronic music, kind of groovy but also really col and mechanical sounding.” shared Gum.
