Preoccupations Reconnect With Our Mammal Sides in “Antidote”

In an information-saturated age, it can be hard to stay connect to our primal roots. Canadian quartet Preoccupations reminds us the simple and mammal sides of our species with their new video “Antidote” where we see the quartet performing in a noir, distorted visuals. Directed by Michael Wallace and Evan Pearce, the song is another peek into their upcoming album New Material, which will be out on March 23rd:

“Antidote is about humans forgetting that we’re apes, it’s about trying to make sense out of something that we’d be better off not trying to make sense of. Its about having infinite knowledge at our fingertips, but still making all the wrong choices over and over. It’s about trying to find a moment in your day where you can take a breath and remember that we’re basically all just animals bumbling around.” shared frontman Matt Flegel.
