Brooklyn trio Strange Names takes us into a galactic/sci-fi/existential odyssey in their new album Data. Injecting varying doses of funk and new wave into their synthpop sound, the trio maneuvers their way around our imagination with an infectious fizz. Stream the entire record below:

Amidst all the socio-political chaos and natural disasters that have been going on, Data feels like an interlude from the breakneck world by humorously reminding us of the pettiness of our existence. “It’s about adding an element of discovery to these things that are very mundane and routine for us,” shared member Liam Benzvi.

Strange Names has some show dates coming up this month:

2/24 – Baby’s All Right (Brooklyn, NY, USA)

2/26 – School Night (Los Angeles, CA, USA)

2/28 – Silverlake Lounge (Los Angeles, CA, USA)
