Melbourne quartet Totally Mild is taking us all the way to a Zen-like pop waters with their new album Her, which was released today via Chapter Music. The record is a beaming work of lo-fi, softcore, and dream pop that hits starry-eyed highs and heartache lows. We’ll let the record sing for itself.

“‘Her’ is a record of failure and victory, new desire, stale romance, queer domesticity and what comes when the party is over. I was torn between a new domestic life and the impulse to tear it all away with bad choices. I fell in love, but I wrestled for independence. I was always trying to prove that I didn’t need anyone; my wife, my friends, my band. Her is a document of a woman struggling with the idea of potential. We are told that we could be limitless, but we wrestle with unseen personal and structural walls.” shared Elizabeth Mitchell.

Elizabeth started Totally Mild as a solo project but soon grew to a band with the addition of Zachary Schneider (guitar), Ashley Bundang (drums) and Lehmann Smith (bass). Her is the follow up of their critically acclaimed debut record, Down Time, which was released back in 2015. The quartet is set to play in SXSW and will be announcing more tour dates in the upcoming weeks (aside from the ones listed below):
