Lo-fi, indie rockers Indigo Husk know that the best remedy for sadness is acknowledging how shitty it is rather than trying to hide it under the ‘fine’ cover. Their latest single “Not Feeling Better” is a deceivingly buoyant song that cheerfully accepts the moody hole you’ve fallen into, which creates an ironic chemistry between the lyrics and melody. Stream below:

“‘Not Feeling Better’ unintentionally became a kind of self-help mantra. It initially started as a songwriting attempt to juxtapose all the sad feelings I was going through at the time against a happy melody. The result being a chant-like chorus that plays on the idea of brushing yourself off and surrounding yourself with your loved ones and just carrying on! It felt natural to incorporate the Brass section again and it I think it adds to the can-do nature of the song” shared Joe Hamm.

The song is the follow up of their November’s “Waste Of A Year,” which garnered buzz in UK’s garage and lo-fi pop scene. After spending 2017 supporting Will Joseph Cook, Rat Boy, Decklan Mckennan, and High Tyde, the quartet is ready to go on a headline tour this summer:

6/17 – The Garage (Glasgow, UK)

6/18 – Jimmy’s (Manchester, UK)

6/19 – Hare & Hounds Kings Heath (Birmingham, UK)

6/20 – The Green Door Store (Brighton, UK)

6/21 – Lock 17 & Dingwalls (London, UK)
