Not many people in LA know this, but we do sorta have a superhero who roams through the streets in bird costume. Granted, he may not have Batmobile, but let’s be realistic people – one of the main reasons why we can’t have superheroes in this city is because of the absurd parking restrictions:
I mean, c’mon! Fighting crime for free is one thing, but getting a $70 parking ticket on top of that?
This is the reason why we have the dancing Birdman that cavorts around the streets of Koreatown making people happy and uncomfortable. London-based quartet PREP wants to raise awareness of the existence of this Birdman with their video “Don’t Bring Me Down.” So if you don’t know who Birdman is, it’s this dude:
Directed by Tuixen Benet (who’s also the mastermind behind Tame Impala’s “The Less I know The Better” choreography), the video was shot in LA’s finest Koreatown.
“Don’t Bring Me Down” is from PREP’s upcoming EP Cold Fire, which will be out in April. They have show dates coming up:
3/18 – Islington Assembly Hall (London, UK)
5/5 – Oslo (London, UK)
