Eleanor Friedberger Takes Fitness From Running To Reiki In “Make Me A Song”

Your introduction to LA’s fitness

If you need a crash course of LA’s ‘fitness’ culture, then Eleanor Friedberger’s new video “Make Me A Song” is your go-to summary. The songstress takes us jogging around the neighbors of LA before taking it up a notch with a Reiki session. And of course, we can’t forget about hiking. The noir visuals and cheerful melancholia of the song capture the often absurd yet introspective ways we try to keep our sanity together through all kinds of activities:

“Despite the refrain ‘I could love you more,’ Make Me A Song’ is not a love song. It was inspired by an encounter with a born-again Christian musician I met while living in Athens. Over dinner he confessed: ‘I love Jesus; Jesus is my best friend.’ I was surprised– and even more surprised later, when I was searching for the right tone and lyrics for a song that could be long, meditative and unifying. I wanted to write a song about wanting to try harder and not knowing how; a song about writing songs that urge us to vibrate and resonate!” shared Eleanor.

The track is from Eleanor’s upcoming album, Rebound, which will be out on May 4th. May the fourth be with her.
