Maps & Atlases Shares “Fall Apart” From Upcoming Album

First album in six years

After six recordless years, Chicago-based band Maps & Atlases are returning in full force with a new album Lightlessness is Nothing New, which will be out on June 1st. The band has shared its first single “Fall Apart,” a funky introspective taste of what we can expect:

Lightlessness is Nothing New is the follow up of their critically acclaimed record Beware and Be Grateful and was largely influenced by the frontman Dave Davison’s loss of this father. Using music as a therapeutic outlet, Dave invites us to tap into a more contemplative and vulnerable side with the new record where he wrestles coming into terms with his own emotional weight – something that all of us can relate. Maps & Atlases will start touring in May, so see them live:
