In Case Of Miscommunication, Play Sleepspent’s “Come Smile With Me”

Words can hurt.

The solution to miscommunication is being direct, but let’s face it – we tend to try to alleviate the tension with passive aggressive language, which often times exacerbates the situation. And that’s what Sleepspent illustrates in their new indie rock single “Come Smile With Me.” Throwing some mild doses of shoegaze elements and heavily synth-coated strings, Sleepspent touches upon the impact that words can have. The best way to let someone know that they do a D- job at communicating is by telling them directly, but you also don’t wanna be THAT person who let them know they were awful human beings. In cases like this, play “Come Smile With Me”:

In regards to the track, songwriter/guitarist Austin North explained that “It’s mostly about miscommunication and how people don’t think before they speak, or don’t care about the impact their words have.”

“Come Smile With Me” is from Sleepspent’s debut EP It’s Better If You Don’t Speak Or Think, which will be out on May 4th. Formed in El Paso by Austin, Cecilia Otero (bass) and Josh Mendoza (drums), the trio will start touring in support of their EP next month. See them live:
