Using the buoyant melodic backbone of summer pop and tingling sparks of Wes Anderson aesthetics, Little Monarch opens up a sunny soundscape filed with surrealistic aura in their new single “Tangerine.” It’s the first new music from the trio who seems to be on a mission to stretch their sonic palette by adding substances of reggae, soul, cinema, pop, and magic:

“We are so excited to release new music and start tour! ‘Tangerine’ is the first single off our upcoming EP. The song started with the guitar riff, and we found ourselves building on this feeling of escaping to a magical island off an emerald bay à la Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom. Leaving your old ways behind in search of the next great adventure.” shared the trio.

Comprised of Casey Kalmenson (guitar, vocals), Lanita Smith (vocals, keys), and Justin Andres (guitar, bass), Little Monarch is an LA-based band whose debut self-titled EP garnered viral success (15 million+ Spotify streams). “Tangerine” is from the trio’s upcoming EP, which will be out this summer. They have shows coming up:

5/1 – Mississippi Studios (Portland, OR, USA)

5/2 – The Crocodile (Seattle, WA, USA)
