Young Fathers’ new video “Toy” gives us a distinct perspective in today’s political atmosphere by depicting children as dictators. It shows the childish absurdity of the power struggles, but also the toxicity of the game that can even make children stripped from their innocence. Directed by Stink Films Director Salomon Ligthelm, “Toy” sheds light to the game four little boys play in expense of the mass:

“The tone of the track is so visceral and abrasive, which I think marries the political subject matter perfectly. I honestly just really like the idea of seeing dictators behaving like spoilt little children – pissed with the world, because things aren’t going their way. Looking at the political climate of our time, I’d say truth is certainly stranger than fiction.” shared the director.

“Toy” is from Young Fathers’ third album Cocoa Sugar, which came out on March 9th and has become the band’s biggest commercial and critical success to date. The band is currently on tour:
