Valley Queen Is On The Verge Of A Mental Breakdown In “Boiling Water”

We all lose it at some point – the only difference is that some of us are better at hiding it. LA rock quartet Valley Queen captures that chaotic sensation we all experience when our sanity is about to hit the fat with their latest zealous single “Boiling Water.” Granted, it’s about your sanity turning into vapor but melodically it’s very therapeutic – the mad beats and intensity serve as an outlet for you to vicariously purge any anger inside:

“The lyrics actually came from a book by Bhante Henopola Gunaratana on mindfulness. Shawn got the idea of the refrain of ‘your mind is on fire/it’s like boiling water/give it all to me and it’s gone’ idea from that text a long time ago and we re-approached the song when I just went in and read the symptoms of your mind being like boiling water. The song expresses that state of mind and relating to that sensation.” shared frontwoman Natalie Carol.

“Boiling Water” is from Valley Queen’s debut album Supergiant, which will be out on July 13 via Roll Call Records. They will start touring in July and will be supporting Social Distortion in September:
