Rubblebucket Captures The Claustrophobic Vastness Of City Life In “What Life Is”

Life can be overwhelming

NYC duo Rubblebucket captures the claustrophobic energy of urban life in their track “What Life Is” – a psyche-infused piece of lush pop that induces you into the daydreaming zone. The video shows a gorgeous and minimalistic cinematography that channels the overwhelming hopelessness and isolation we hide beneath our numb faces. Watch below:

“‘What Life Is’ is a stream of consciousness inspired by living in New York City. Being in close quarters with so many humans bumping into one another, feverishly striving and surviving can be as inspiring as it is suffocating. I’m sometimes struck with an image of me and my 8 million neighbors from afar, as tiny beings filtering in and out of tiny boxes within bigger concrete structures, onto trains and gridded streets. And somehow persevering and trying to be human and happy. It’s a wild and beautiful endeavor and takes a fair amount of grit.”

The track is from Rubblebucket’s upcoming album Sun Machine, which will be out on August 24th. The duo will also start touring next month, so see them in person:
