Brooklyn-based quartet Active Bird Community teaches us the art of practicing self-love by becoming our own hero in their new video “Baby It’s You.” Directed by Nick D’Agostino, “Baby It’s You” packs a punch of humor that showcases how the power of confidence can change everything. Also, it’s a good rock jam to blast if you ever need an I-love-me boost:

“‘Baby It’s You’ is a song about love. But I think the song leaves me with more than just an ‘I’m in love’ feeling and more of a feeling of confidence that comes from loving yourself,” explained singer/guitarist Andrew Wolfson. “I think it’s reciprocal: confidence comes from self-love but it also takes confidence to love yourself. This pop star character Nick D’Agostino and I created in the video has all the confidence in the world and it felt great being that hero for a day.”

“Baby It’s You” is from Active Bird Community’s debut album Amends, which will be out on September 14th via Barsuk Records. Comprised of Tom D’Agustino (vocals, guitar), Andrew Wolfson (vocals, lead guitar), Quinn McGovern (drums) and Zach Slater (bass), Active Bird Community have been playing together since middle school and have recently played a sold-out show at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory.
