Austrian artist Mavi Phoenix captures the self-induced hopelessness of sticking with a bad relationship in her new single “Ibiza,” where she artfully uses lo-fi elements to keep it intimate and minimum but also pumps it up with trip-hop choruses. Between self-destruction and nostalgia, Mavi navigates through the emotional maze of wanting to leave a relationship, but being unable to detach completely. Stream below:

In regards to the track, the gal shared, “It’s my soundtrack for when you realize that you don’t fit together, but it’s super hard to let go and you get stuck in reminiscence.”

“Ibiza” is from Mavi’s upcoming EP, Young Prophet II, which will be out on October 5th. The gal has some shows coming up this month and will start her European tour in October.
