College was heaven – some of us here used to party five times a week and thought we were overdoing it. DEAD WRONG. We should’ve partied daily and exploited the glorious fact that we were seen as adults, but justifiably immature enough to do stupid shit. Ohio psych pop quartet Captain Kidd captures the atmospheric nostalgia and bliss of those irresponsible, blissful days in their new single “Wide Eyes.” It’s a mixture of moodiness and youthful euphoria where the swelling thumps and smoky croons take you back to the happiest moment of your life:
“‘Wide Eyes’ came about after reunion earlier this summer with old college friends. We stayed up for about 36 hours straight reminiscing about all the stupid things we use to do, all while jamming to a playlist of 90s house music we put together.” shared Captain Kidd.
Captain Kidd became the latest buzz with their record Wild last December, which hit Spotify’s viral charts and was featured on iHeart Radio. The quartet has some shows coming up, so go party with them like it’s college and if you’re in college, SAVOR EVERY MOMENT. It all goes downhill from there:
