Mike Posner’s “Song About You” Is Melodic Intermittent Fasting For Your Soul

Time to reset your emotional metabolism

Gramamy-nominated/multi-platinum selling artist, Mike Posner (the iconic voice of “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” and “Cooer Than Me”), helps us detox our souls and emotions with his new single “Song About You.” It’s a reflection of a relationship that didn’t work out, where Mike juggles with the melancholia, frustration, and introspection that are left behind. If we had to describe the sound, it’s a quasi-auto song where you can find a pinch of psychedelia embedded within the experimental skeleton of the track. “Song About You” exhibits an up-and-down melodic motion, but always keeps its composure as if you’re dissecting the emotional layers of a heartbroken Zen master….or someone on Xanax:

“It was good to make this song because of all the angst that was inside me. What do you do with that angst? I put it in a song. Then I don’t have to throw it on another human or on myself,” he shared. “You can only hope someone feels a sense of beauty or connection out of your suffering – that’s the highest goal as an artist.”

“Song About You” is from Mike’s upcoming album, which will be out soon via Island Records. He has a show coming up:

10/13 – Piedmont Park (Atlanta, GA, USA)
