EZI Wanders Through The Abstract Land Of Temptation In “Need You Like That”

Quasi-ominous pop

There’s something enchanting and subtly ominous in EZI’s sound that blurs the line between reality and dream (or nightmare). The LA-based artist ventures out to the abstract territory of temptation in her new single “Need You Like That” where she keeps a level of ambiguity that keeps the subject of her temptation in a smudged, subjective form. It’s a slo-mo, hypnotic journey that swings between corporeal and emotional lust. Stream below:

“This song is about temptation, but keeping the lyrics ambiguous was very much an intentional choice. I made it on a whim at 1am in a basement room in New York and really stepped away from myself when making it. I eventually asked my dad to come join me in the studio and play violin on the track, which made the whole experience very special.” shared EZI.

“Need You Like That” is out now via 5 Town records and it’s a first glimpse into her upcoming EP, which is largely influenced by her experiences growing up as second generation of USSR immigrants in America. If EZI looks familiar, you’re not hallucinating – she’s currently the face of Steve Madden’s national ‘Madden Girl’ campaign.
