London-based Irish trio whenyoung reflects on the meaning of being alive in their new edgy rock single “Given Up.” Built on vibrant bassline and gritty riffage, “Given Up” delivers an existential kick to our heads while fueling us with its percussive bursts. Directed by Dazed’s Editorial Director Bunny Kinney, the video was show in London’s legendary Peckham Liberals Club. Watch below:

“‘Given Up’ was written after a series of late nights and self-inflicted misdirection. The central message is to take your life by the reins and create your own future.” shared the band.

The single is from the band’s upcoming debut EP, also called Given Up, which will be out on November 9th. Comprised of Aoife Power (vocals, bass), Niall Burns (guitar), and Andrew Flood (drums), the Irish trio met in their hometown of Limerick where they bonded over cheap vodka and love for The Velvet Underground. The trio eventually moved to London in 2017 where they made waves across the rock scene and played at major festivals including Great Escape, Latitude, Kendal Calling, and Bestival. The trio will be hitting the road again in a few days, so make sure to check them out:
