North London quartet STIIR gives us a realistic portrayal of human bond in their new single “Luxury Butter.” The track is deceivingly laidback where the swollen synths and lush chords take you on a chill, euphonious ride. But there is a subtle element of darkness to it that you can feel from the broody ambience that boils underneath. Once you start actually digesting the lyrics, “Luxury Butter” becomes a raw portrayal of the fragility and difficulties of relationships:
“The song plays on the realities of what relationships are actually like,” say STIIR. “There’s a darker side to it sometimes. There’s a brooding element that carries throughout – tension and suspicion. I think you can hear that in the music.” shared the four.
“Luxury Butter” is the follow up of their debut single “Free Yourself,” which was featured on BBC radio and various press across the world.. The four is currently working on new music, so make sure to keep them under your radar.
