Trapdoor Social Takes Us Into A Surf Rock State Of Mind In “Hold Me Down”

The sound of California

From their sound’s Xanax-y vibe, you can tell that Trapdoor Social is a band that was made in California and despite being in the middle of fall, their latest track “Hold Me Down” feels like a time capsule of summer. On an arrhythmic indie pop canvass, the trio smears it with surf rock elements with a laidback motion that wrap us with groovy warmth hard to resist:

Trapdoor Social is not just your basic Cali band, they are known for their environmental activism and have done fundraising for sustainability, produced outdoor solar-powered concerts across the country, and are involved with various local activism projects including Homeboy Industries, Mesa Ridge High School and Kids Cancer Connection. They’re currently working on their fourth LP, which will probably come out next year. Also, be on the lookout for a national tour next spring.
